Update from Jen Anthony, VP Cybersecurity & Risk

Global tensions remain elevated following recent U.S. military actions involving Iran. Even when a ceasefire is announced or diplomatic talks are in progress, cyber threats often persist quietly in the background with potential impact on organizations like yours, even if you don't typically consider yourself a likely target.

Prior to joining Think|Stack, I served as an Active Duty Airman at the Air Force Cyber Operations Center, directly involved in offensive and defensive cyberspace missions globally. I've witnessed firsthand how state-sponsored cyber actors remain active during geopolitical unrest, even after headlines fade. Such attacks aren’t limited solely to military, government, or critical infrastructure targets; often, the objective is broader disruption by exploiting common technologies—from business software to communication platforms.

At Think|Stack, we’re proactively addressing these ongoing risks:

What We’re Doing:

  • Activating heightened monitoring across all managed environments
  • Reviewing patch statuses on systems historically targeted by state-sponsored attackers
  • Minimizing exposure from remote access tools and publicly accessible endpoints
  • Blocking applications and network traffic linked to recent threat activities
  • Continuously monitoring threat indicators from CISA, DHS, and intelligence partners

What We Recommend: Your internal vigilance remains crucial. Key immediate steps include:

  • Utilizing strong, unique passwords and enforcing multi-factor authentication (MFA)
  • Staying alert for phishing attempts or unusual activity, and promptly reporting concerns
  • Ensuring timely application of security updates to firewalls, VPNs, and endpoint protections

We will continue closely monitoring developments and provide updates as needed. Should you wish to review your current cybersecurity posture or discuss specific concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Our team remains committed to helping you stay prepared.

Stay safe and vigilant,

Jen Anthony
